Midori Japanese Cafe
Brand Identity | Advertising | Menus | Speck Work
This project involved rebranding a Japanese café in Calgary, where I developed a fresh visual identity along with a comprehensive set of advertising materials for both social media and out-of-home placements. The rebranding was meticulously planned, beginning with extensive market research focused on the café's downtown Calgary location. I analyzed the target demographics to understand the types of customers who would be drawn to the café, which informed the tone of voice, messaging, and design direction of the brand.

The result was a distinct and engaging identity that captures the café’s Japanese heritage while appealing to a modern, urban audience. All visual elements, including illustrations, logos, and promotional graphics, were custom-designed by me, with no use of stock imagery or pre-made templates—except for mockups used in presentations. This hands-on approach ensured a unique and cohesive brand experience that resonates authentically with the café's clientele.
