Food Insecurity Campaign
Logo Redesign | Advertisements | Print Material
This project addresses a critical but underacknowledged issue in Canada: rising food insecurity amid recent inflation. Despite growing needs, many individuals face food insecurity in silence due to stigma or lack of awareness. This campaign aims to both support those affected by demonstrating that they are not alone and to raise awareness among those who may be unaware of the severity of the issue. Food Banks Canada provides accurate, hopeful messaging and vital resources. My campaign builds on their work, using original imagery, typography, and a colour palette inspired by a comforting blend of yellow-orange, cyan, and magenta.
The media for this project were selected to maximize impact and reach. Given the importance of the issue, I chose out-of-home advertising over social media, where messages are often dismissed or debated rather than acted upon. Billboards and bus stop ads are designed to spark curiosity and provoke thoughtful consideration. By avoiding online saturation, the campaign ensures that the information is intentionally processed. Additionally, the trifold brochure is designed to engage those genuinely interested, ensuring the message is read and considered.
